Good day, I’m John H. Thompson and I am running for Ogden City Council. 

Some things I’d like to do should be easy, either yes or no. Such as, getting the First Security clock working again, flying the US flag from city hall and getting an Ogden history room constructed in city center. Other things may be more involved such as studying combining Weber and Ogden school districts and assuring Ogden gets its $90K in census money. I don’t know what the major, more complex and complicated issues will become 2022 and beyond. But I’ll be ready.

I do believe that government, especially city government, should have as its priority; the goal of improving and making better the lives of its citizens. With that in mind, that’s how I will first look at each issue that comes before me. I will review the limited 20% of a problem but also dig deep for the other 80% that does not initially come to light. Let’s see who is harmed, who is helped, who pays, and who benefits. Who are the few, or the many hindered or helped? I am a retired marine, and this will be my full time job!
